Blackberries

No. This is not an ironic blog title. After yesterday's drearery drizzly dull weather, we woke up this morning to clear bright sunshine, blue skies and blackberries. And it continued throughout the whole of the day. Together with a significant drop in the wind compared to the last few days this made our continued ascent up the Tame valley very pleasant indeed.

After just a couple of hours and seven locks we moored up for the day at a particularly attractive and sunny spot by the meadows just below Roaches Lock No. 15W - very convenient for the Roaches Lock Inn. We spent most of the afternoon just relaxing in the sunshine on the canal bank, and Niall, Ginger and I even had a paddle in the nearby River Tame a clear, fast-flowing (and very cold) fairly substantial rocky stream.
