Peak Forest Canal

Slept quite late and then spent some of the morning exploring more of the Bugsworth Basin complex.

Middle Basin, Bugsworth Basin, Peak Forest Canal, Bugsworth, Derbyshire

Set off about 1:00pm back up the Peak Forest Canal to Marple. This section of the canal is fantastically scenic. The canal runs quite high up on one side of the Goyt valley, and there are exceptional views across to the other side and to the Peak District beyond - particularly as you approach Marple.

At Marple Junction we turned onto the Macclesfield Canal and continued for a short distance out of Marple towards High Lane, mooring-up at Hawk Green. It has become quite windy, but there are impressive views here across the Cheshire Plain and to Manchester.

Dinner on boat: Fi's chilli.
