Cloudy Pennines

The weather forecast for today was heavy rain for most of the day, but fortunately it was overcast but dry for the whole of the next stage in our ascent of the Tame valley from Roaches Lock to Dobcross. In fact, the sun came out shortly after we arrived at our mooring at Wool Road, and we sat out on the bank with a well earned glass of wine for a while.

Viv joined us before we departed from Roaches Lock, and Aaron left after we reached Dobcross.

Our luck with the weather ended later in the evening however, when Viv and I decided to check-out the nearest pub - another Navigation Inn. The heavens opened almost as soon as we left the boat, and we were completely soaked by the time we reached the pub.

Dinner at the Navigation Inn - excellent. I had fish & chips, Dave had a curry, Niall had steak pie, and Viv had an unusually tasty vegetable stew with dumplings.
