First day of my latest trip on the Chelonian. We are going from Leeds to Chorley, Lancs. on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. See http://www.highrise.dircon.co.uk/deptlads/canal/itinerary-jun11.htm for the details.
Train to Leeds. Met at the station by Dave, Niall and Ginger (who enthusiastically attempts to lick even more of the special coating off the lenses of my glasses), and walk back to Clarence Dock where the boat is moored.
Spend the afternoon looking around the Royal Armouries museum. It is a very odd collection. One minute you are looking at an impressive suit of elephant armour, but through the next door is an exhibit about knife crime. The medieval galleries are pretty impressive though - particularly the Henry VIII armour.
