Heapey to Adlington

Good weather again for our final day, and the Johnson's Hillock lock flight is altogether more attractive that the rather mundane Blackburn locks yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures.

Successfully (we hope) released 'Dill' the waterbound pigeon we rescued two days ago from under the mooring decking in Rishton. It had become quite tame and docile, but seemed happy enough to be let loose, and we caught sight of it flying quite successfully between the trees on either side of the canal, despite  the fact that its tail feathers were still in a pretty poor state.

Lazed-around a bit for the afternoon before catching the the train from Adlington to Preston, and then to Euston.

Heapey to Adlington: 5.2 miles, 7 locks
