Enjoyable, if rather hot, afternoon at the
Greenwich Fair, part of the
Greenwich & Dockland International Festival.

| The Iron Man |
OK - some of the acts were somewhat oversold in the brochure, but some of the main performances were very good. The highlight for me was the
Graeae production of Ted Hughes'
The Iron Man in St Alfege Park. Perhaps an overly - and over-egged staging, the Iron Man himself was superb. It is a shame that the space-bat-dragon-thing was not so well realised. It was pretty easy to guess who was going to win! Anyway, thoroughly enjoyable.

| Guixot de 8's (non-functional) version of Tinguely |
Also saw
Candoco Dance Company's aerobatic take on the Icarus legend
"Heartland" on a domed rig by the Old Royal Naval College, and some baroque juggling -
"Smashed" - by
Gandini. Managed to avoid Emergency Exit Arts' giant meerkats, which from the publicity literature looked frankly too creepy/scary, but enjoyed Guixot de 8's fun interactive versions of modern sculpture.
