Deptford Lounge

Walked down to Deptford to take a look at the new library at Deptford Lounge on Giffin Street, which finally opened on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, it doesn't compare very favourably with Southwark's new library at Canada Water (see blog 12 December 2011). There are nowhere near as many books, and everything is laid-out in a huge open plan space. It feels quite cold and institutional. Also, since it is part of the same complex as a new primary school, it was full of kids when I was there at about 4pm.
