Southwark Park Stroll

Lake at Southwark Park

 Cold, but bright and sunny afternoon, so went out for a stroll. Ended up in Southwark Park. I had not really paid much attention to the more recent renovations they have done there, but it actually looks quite good and well maintained. The lake is full of wildfowl, including a rather forlorn looking heron, and there are lots of ravens, seagulls and geese grazing around too. Overall, this is quite a smart and attractive park now.

Continued on up to Bermondsey wall, then along the Thames Path towards Rotherhithe. Stopped for a while at the Brunel Museum (but didn't go in) which has some rather amusing benches outside designed to look like Brunel bridges.

Walked back to Canada Water Library, to look for some books for my next trip, and then home via Greenland Dock. Although only meant to be a short stroll, when I plotted the route on Google Maps it turned out to be over 5 miles.
