Walk: Canary Wharf to Greenwich
Got the tube to Canary Wharf, and walked along the dockside to Canary Wharf Pier. Then along the Thames Path around the Isle of Dogs via Masthouse Terrace and Island Gardens to Cubitt Wharf. Then back to Island Gardens and through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel to the Cutty Sark.
Not a particularly long walk - about 4 miles, but quite enjoyable as it is a clear sunny day, although getting quite cold.
Pleased to see that the City Pride pub is still there. I recall reading a while back that it was under threat of redevelopment. This is one of the last remaining traditional pubs in Canary Wharf, and the pub that my grandpa used to go to when he worked at the Millwall Docks.
One annoying aspect about the Thames Path here is that some of the newer redevelopments (particularly those opposite Pepys) have restricted riverside access. In a few cases there is no access, but what is really irritating is that some have simply blocked through access. So you reach a wall or fence and then have to walk through the development to the main road and then walk along to the next development, back to the riverside, and now you are on the other side of the fence/wall and can continue.
