Cornwall Trip - Day 18
Fairly dull drizzly weather. After a lazy morning, get a paper and go to
Café Chandlers for coffee and a palmier. Sit and read the paper for a while, waiting for the weather to clear-up, which eventually it does.

| View of St Mawes from Upper Castle Road |
Go for a short walk up the hill behind the village. This road (Grove Hill) is signed as a 33% incline, that is 1-in-3 in old money (or 15 degree slope) - so ridiculously steep that you can almost touch the road surface in front of you as you walk up (and walking down in anything other than perfect conditions, and something to hold onto, is treacherous). Walk up to the top and then back along the ridge, down Upper Castle Road, from where there are fantastic views down to the village and across to St Anthony Head and Falmouth. Then down to the castle and back along the front.
Afternoon pint at
The Victory, then back to the cottage to start getting ready for going home tomorrow.
